Emerald City Classic - Day 1

Maybe we should have practiced at the beach all year. Or maybe all tournaments should begin at 3 pm. Whatever the reason, the girls came out and played some of their best volleyball of the year, taking out two higher seeds from Oregon and an outmatched Wahine team from Des Monies, WA in 6 straight games. The serving was solid, the defense and passing worked, Maddie's sets were spot on, and our hitters were nailing it...all which puts us in a nice spot on Sunday as the top seed in our pool where we will once again battle a couple of Oregon teams and the Cascade Blue team from Seattle. As it is now 11:40 PM and exhausted from the good play by Blue and the 12th inning victory by the Mariners over the hated Yankees, I will now retire and get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.
