Back from the Abyss

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am over my funk. Sorry for being Debbie Downer. #11 and I are getting ready for a drive up to Bellingham to watch Western take on SPU in a big GNAC game.

And as the name of this blog is CLUB Volleyball Dad, it will warm everyone's heart to hear that the various Puget Sound clubs have begun posting their 2010-2011 tryout dates. Looks like the weekend before Thanksgiving will be a busy one! Alot more angst in the house this time around because we want to catch on with a solid, perhaps traveling, team this year. U16 is a pretty important one. Any feedback or tips on Eastside clubs will be appreciated!

Have a great weekend!

  1. OK, a lot of generalizations from over the years. Please don't shoot me if I offend anyone....

Eastside Clubs (Note, my daughters have never played for an eastside club, so this is "from the outside):

    1) WVBA, but they had a very successful 15s team last year that I assume will mostly stay together.
    2) Sudden Impact
    3) Island Thunder
    4) NW Juniors (has lots of different teams at each age group)
    5) YMCA Blaze (less expensive than the others but does not travel as much)

  2. DD also does not play on the Eastside, but I do watch a lot and keep my ears open.

I'll give a second nod to YMCA Blaze. Good value.

Ridge Valley (North Bend) is a fairly new, up and coming club. With Bonnie Foote at the helm, you can't go wrong.

Not a fan of NW Juniors. They have diluted themselves with too many teams. They have NW Elite teams, but for the $$, they underwhelmed me.

Sudden Impact is a good choice.

High Velocity is also in the Bellevue area I believe.
