The High School season sputtered to an end with a completely lackluster performance against Liberty. Some might say losing 2 of the games by 3 points or less mean we were in it; I say it exposes a need for the coaching staff to show the girls how to rise above adversity and become winners.
Time now to get mentally and physically prepared for Club Tryouts in 3 weeks. It will be up to Maddie to stay in shape and figure out a way to make her mark. No one else can help her reach her goal of playing in college at this stage but her.
But it was a fun, if a bit frustrating first year of high school ball and I hope she had a blast.

VB Dad you take it too hard. You said the team had'nt won a game in several years prior to this season and lost in the playoffs by less than 3 points in 2 games, it shows they have what it takes to win they just don't know how to dig deep and pull it off. If there are returning players it sets up well for next year. Had they been destroyed it would be a different story.
ReplyDeleteNow you can turn to the important stuff, Major League soccer playoffs. I suggest you support the Galaxy over the Sounders today as the Seattle team is going to get drubbed,
Cheers,
you know who
I know how much Maddie likes Jenna Hagglund. She has been selected as one of the ten finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for volleyball. This is the first year the award has been given out for volleyball, joining nine other Division I sports. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.

I agree! Get the vote out for Jenna! She has been so nice to Maddie this year and is definitely one of her role models. CVD has met her too and she came across as kind and focused caring. No argument here.
