Once the brackets shaped up and the girls played teams more at their level, it was a blast to watch. They won several matches yesterday and those that they lost both went to 3 games and were within a few points. It was a very long day and it was a relief to all that we won our final contest and didn't have to stick around to ref. The team is made up of girls pretty new to the sport, but I was really encouraged at how they came together and experienced success. It's a sport where you can fail and succeed all within the space of 5 minutes. Kate served one into the net at game point in one game and in the next one she reeled off about 7 great serves that fueled a great run. Really proud of her and really proud of the team. Today was tryouts for the 9th grade team and she was beat but so excited. Is there anything more wonderful than watching your child compete and do well and seeing the bonds that are forming with the other girls. I think not. And on another positive note, I LOVE my new lens. Here are just a couple of the 80 pics I just sent to all the girls. Gotta say...LOVING IT!
